We took this tour the morning that we got off of a cruise. Took an Uber from the port to the starting location. The driver and tour guide took care of our luggage and kept us well informed of what we were going to be doing for the day. The transition to the Everglades part of the tour was smooth and well handled. 10/10 would recommend. It's a great way to see Miami and its highlights in a compact amount of time.
I had a great time on this trip. Juan and the driver (sorry I don’t remember his name) made the tour around Miami Beach enjoyable and shared a load of information with us. Too much to recall! The bus took us over to Wynwood Walls which was amazing. I’m not sure I would have visited any other way. The Wynwood Gardens was awe inspiring and we caught a couple of artists adding their touch while we were there. Little Havana for lunch was a great idea. We were able to get something to eat and then wander up and down the road. It’s worth taking the guide’s advice on where to eat as some places are not speedy. We ate at the Ball & Chain and had a delicious Cuban sandwich. I then stayed in to the Everglades. If you can, do this add on. We sped around the area and stopped for a time while our Captain told us about the area and the wildlife. I learnt a lot on this trip and it’s tough to say which was my favourite part. It’s a toss up between Wynwood and the Everglades. It is a long day doing both parts. I got picked up at 9.30 at my Hotel and got back around 6pm. All in all a great day.
Our driver and guide was Daniel. Our walking tour guide was Pancho. Both did an excellent job. I was in awe of Daniel maneuvering that huge bus on narrow traffic-clogged streets. On the bus we were provided with interesting maps of our route which included facts about the area, landmarks, businesses, and terminology. We were also given a Little Havana Dining Guide, water, USB charging ports, and a WiFi password. It was a large, comfortable, air-conditioned bus. We toured various Miami neighborhoods. We got off the bus for guided walking tours of Wynwood Walls and Ocean Drive on South Beach. We had an hour and a half in Little Havana for lunch and shopping. I had lunch at El Cristo. I chose this restaurant, because it was highly recommended by our bus driver and walking tour guide. I had a Cuban sandwich and shoestring fries. The sandwich was very good. I bought a t-shirt and keychain at the Little Havana Visitors Center. When we returned to Bayside Marketplace, the entrance had been closed in preparation for the marathon the next day. We were stuck in traffic from 1:15-2:30p trying to get back to Bayside Marketplace. Daniel needed to drop off some people who were going to take a Biscayne Bay cruise and some who were done with the tour. Daniel did a masterful job of finding a way around all the closed roads and detours and finding a place to park the bus on the side of the Marketplace and arranging transportation for the people who were leaving the tour (heading back to Miami Beach) and a guide to deliver people to the harbor tour boat. I stayed on the bus for the afternoon tour of the Everglades. It was nice to be out of the horrendous downtown traffic. The airboat tour was fun. The driver/guide was knowledgeable and very funny. I had forgotten that the Everglades is a shallow slow-moving river filled with tall grasses and some small islands, not a swamp. It is replenished by rainstorms and hurricanes. We were provided with ear plugs. It was fun to learn that turning a corner in an airboat is like a car’s controlled sideways skid around a corner. We also saw a wildlife show where a guide showed us alligators and talked about them.
The organisation of the day was very good and the bus driver was able to accommodate picking us up from a different location. Started off having a drive around South beach which was ok but lacked a lot of information. We did a walking tour and had a bit if history about Versace mansion, which we did miss walking on our own. The Wynwood walls part was alright, but you're left to your own accord, would of liked a bit of history or background around the artists and pieces. Little Havana was interesting but you need to be quick getting food or otherwise you won't be able to explore much. The Everglades part was cool to see wild alligators and the talk by the ranger with the gators was interesting. Fun to hold a small gator although it does cost $3. The bus was nice and cool and there was an automated tour given. The driver and guide were funny and engaging and offered the chance to have photos on Miami Beach and outside Versace. Worth doing for the price to see Miami.
My 13 year old and I were in Miami for a short time. We wanted to pack as much in as possible and this tour met both of our needs. She is more interested in Arts and the Wynwood Walls were right up her ally. It was the perfect amount of time to explore. We had lunch in little Havana- at Old Havana’s Cuban Bar- Cuban sandwich and Plantain maderous- Delicious! They were also playing Cuban music. Our tour guide Jorge also recommended we try the guava and cheese pastries At Yisell. We tried one and then went back for more- great recommendation. He gave a bunch of great tips on the tour and we were glad to have him. I personally love nature and did not want to miss the Everglades. The tour was a little short for me but plenty of time from my daughter’s perspective. We were able to see several alligators and a plethora of birds. I could have spent the entire day here if I had the time. Our other tour guide Daniel was also friendly and patient with the group. I highly recommend this tour company if you want to pack a lot of activities into a single day.
Hernam and Derrick were great guides. We saw so much in a day, South Beach, Wyndwood Walls, Little Havana, and the Everglades, all from the low traffic stress of our bus. The walking tours were great leg stretchers and interesting sites to take in. There were plenty of bathroom breaks. Our guides gave great recommendations for lunch in Little Havana. The Everglades' air boat ride was 45 minutes long, loud and fun! Thanks guys for a great tour!
We wanted to check out Miami and the Everglades and thought this would be the best way without renting a car. Miami Beach is easy to get around without renting a car and I would advise you to not rent a car. The drivers in Miami are aggressive. So taking a tour is a great way to get to know Miami and relax while doing so. Hernam and Derrick were great guides. We saw the beach, Wynwood Walls and Little Havana. Each had a short walking tour and plenty of bathroom breaks. We enjoyed our selves! The recommendations for lunch in Little Havana were perfect! Derrick drove the bus to the Everglades and the air boat ride was fantastic! It's noisy and your hair will be a wreck but it was well worth it. Miami Tour Company was a great choice for us.
